Glass

We have a substantial stock of glass available for our customers to choose from different including the types of glass, color tint, exposed edge to thickness and sizes. Listed below is a short description of glass we sell and or install for our clients here in Houston, TX and surrounding areas. Below is another list of the most common needs for window glass replacement.

Types of Window Glass:

Tempered Glass:

This is a type of glass that is used regularly where safety comes first. We have seen it used in most vehicle driven on the road today in door glass and back windows. When the glass is made it is heated to very high temperatures and is cooled rapidly making it harder than normal glass. If the glass is broken it will break into smaller size pieces that will help reduce injury. Temper Glass cannot be cut like float glass but can be made to a custom size.

Laminated Glass:

Laminated Glass: Is basically made with two pieces of glass sandwich between one layers of PVB. The amount of glass and PVB can range depending on the application. Laminated Glass is considered safety glass and is used to hold an object from leaving or entering an area. However if enough force is used the glass maybe penetrated.

Insulating Glass

Home Widows, Store Fronts and Patio Doors..... Insulating Glass: Is made by placing two or more flat pieces of glass together and separating with a spacer. All the air is removed and is completely sealed from air entering or escaping. The trap air acts as an insulator. Sometimes the seal between the glasses may fail and cause the window to fog up. If this happens please call us so we may help you determine if the glass need repair or replacement.

Low E Glass

Low E Glass: Emits low level of radiant energy. Insulated Glass is typically coated with metallic oxides on the glass. This helps keeps the radiant energy on the same side of the glass the heat is applied while allowing light to pass through.

Flat Glass:

Flat Glass: Also known as plate glass is commonly used in most applications today. It maybe cut to size and shape at customers request. We offer different tints and well as sizes to your needs.
